So for the first time in a couple of weeks I visited Prestwick, along with many others – as it was the “Ayrshow” weekend. Due to other commitments, time at the mound was pretty restricted – as was the available space. The main reason for the visit was a desire to see the visiting Douglas A-26 Invader, not a common aircraft and always a nice to see.

Although I did manage to see the Invader, I only managed a few snatched photographs of it leaving to go back to Duxford. As I was only there for an hour on the Friday and an hour on the Saturday, I didn’t think that there would be that much going on. But I was quite pleased with the movements, there were also several non show related movements.

The weather was pretty variable and on the Saturday, well later on the cloud cover became pretty much wall to wall. But the Friday did give the chance to capture some nice images.

The show itself was over Ayr Bay, hence the name and it has been running for a number of years. There were quite a few show circuit regulars that put in an apperance, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, The Red Arrows and a number of others. And in truth and although the Saturday was cloudy it was a pretty good show.

All in all it was a pretty good couple of hours, a chance to catch up with some old aircraft and some old friends.
