So before all the free files go on the site, I plan to add the ADSB code for each registration in the files. For the US civil register, it is a pretty simple matter – the hexcode is already there in the master file. It is a little more complex for the Canadian register, the data is there but stored as a Binary number – so I’ll need to cobble together a binary to hex converter that will work on the fly.
On the Australian register, things start to get a little more sticky. There is no ADSB code entry at all in the data release, so I’m going to have to go and hunt a listing down. Hopefully it will be recent, so there won’t be many gaps in the download. But I’ll have to wait and see, if I can find one.
In the mean time, the US and Canadian register downloads will have the data added, We’ll have to wait for the Australian information, unless someone else knows where it lives.
